War Eagle Fair

My family and I spent Sunday afternoon at the War Eagle Fair in War Eagle, Arkansas. Since 1954, this fair has been held once or twice a year to showcase the arts and crafts of the Ozarks. Hundreds of exhibitors and hundreds of thousands of attendants gather from all over the country at the historic homestead.

While there, my wife and I bought a couple of very nice handmade wooden toys for Caleb – a train set and a tractor with a disk plow. We are pleased that he takes as much or more delight in these toys as he does with his mass-produced blinking and flashing plastic gewgaws.

All in all, a great day. I got to get out and spend some quality with my family and see firsthand that there are a lot of people that still appreciate good craftsmanship.
